Sweet Hilda Returns!

Sweet Hilda
...a super sweet poncho for little girls in sizes 6 months up to 12-14 years!

Remember when this was originally released through Three Irish Girls back in November 2010? I can't believe it has been 3 years since then!
I really love this little poncho and my girls have worn theirs for 3 years. Willow is still able to get another season out of hers.  I love garments that "grow" with the child and last through a few seasons.

I am very happy to say that Sweet Hilda is now available through my blog and my Ravelry shop! It has been re-edited, clarified and has a new format and schematic.

From November 17-21, 2013, receive $2 off at checkout!
This pattern is also included in the Indie Designer Gift-A-Long here.

Hello there, Mrs.Warford!

Mrs.Warford
$2 off from October 24-28th. Discount applied at checkout

Mrs. Warford is reminiscent of an era gone by. The low, scooped neckline, under bust gathers, fitted sleeves; small buttons and embroidered waistband speak of romanticism and simple elegance. It is a longer, mid-thigh length cardigan with a diagonal pin stripe stitch pattern mimicking the popular pin striping and bias cuts of garments from another time.
In order to modernize and make this a wearable garment for today, the shaping from the waist down is done with increases at the sides to create a more fluid, fitted look. It features sizing that is easily adjusted to fit each wearer with precision and comfort. It is begun with a duplicate stitched waistband, then knit seamlessly from the waistband up through the bodice. The sleeves are worked by picking up stitches around each armhole, using short rows to shape the sleeve cap, the worked in the round to the cuff. The lower body is worked from the waistband down. It is sure to please knitters of all levels.

Mermaid's Lagoon

Mermaid's Lagoon

I have had this beautiful yarn from Colour Adventures for a while now and wanted to create the perfect pattern for it!

Description: Mermaids Lagoon is a cardigan that is worked from the top down, seamlessly and flat. It features raglan shaping, cap sleeves and an A-line shape. The upper bodice has a “pearl” pattern with a “net” waist band and “fish scale lace” on the lower body. Button bands are picked up at each front edge and buttons are applied on a little more than half of the band, beginning at the neck edge.

It is a quick and easy little girl’s cardigan that is a great introductory to new techniques, such as, lace, textured stitches, short rows and picking up stitches.

Vintage Baby Set - Knit Now Issue 15

Vintage Baby Set
Knit Now Magazine, Issue 15

Description:  Not long ago, most infants took their naps on the porch, in their bassinets or prams. My mum had such a pram that I took leisurely naps in among the fresh air and warm sun. The Vintage Baby Set was created as a throw back to that time when little ones needed a complete outfit to keep them warm and dry. It features an easy fair isle pattern and a twisted rib bodice on the cardigan for an heirloom feel.

Cardigan: Body is worked from the bottom up, flat, seamed at the shoulders. Sleeves are worked flat, seamed and sewn into place.
Leggings: Leggings have a folded waistband with an I-cord tie, knit seamlessly, in the round. Short rows across backside with a gusset. Each leg is worked seamlessly, in the round.
Bonnet: Bonnet is worked from the forehead to the crowd, seamlessly and flat. Chin strap is in garter stitch.
Sizes:  3, 6, 12, 18, 24 months

Rating: Easy to Intermediate

Techniques & Stitches Used:  Twisted sts, fair isle/ stranded colourwork, knitting flat and in the round, seaming.

                                    Main Color; Allure:  3(3, 4, 4, 5) skeins
16-20 yds each of Copper Penny & Martini
