Willoughby...

Willoughby Jacket & Longies

This was a couple of years in the making due to various delays!  I am SO happy with both patterns and am making a new set for the new baby :)  In Malabrigo Rios; so soft!

Sizes  3 months to 6 years
(Loxley is squished into a smaller size! He didn't want to take it off!)
Sample shown in size 2 years (on a 4 year old) in Three Irish Girls Sprinvale Super Merino.

Both jacket & longies are seamless and feature an easy to remember, circle cable pattern.  This makes a very squishy little set!

Awesome wooden buttons from Anny May Craft Supplies on Etsy. LOVE these buttons!

Ribbed Longies are so warm and cozy and hug little legs nicely.

Solace Re-release!

Originally published in Knit Now, Issue 24, Solace has been updated and re-released through my blog and Ravelry!

Totally seamless, top down with raglan shaping, Solace is enjoyable to knit and you will only have a few ends to weave in!...and maybe a button to sew on!  Worsted or Aran weight yarn also makes it a quicker knit than most cardigans.

Rounded front edges adds style but also a nice shape that looks good on a variety of body types.

A simple slip stitch pattern is worked throughout with wide ribbed bands for a classic feel.

Sizes XS-XXL, finished bust of 30"-54", included 0-2" of positive ease.

$2 off Solace Cardigan Pattern from December 11-13, 2013.  Discount is applied at checkout.  Happy knitting!

Etta Re-release

Etta
Re-released December 2013.

As always, India is my model!  This tunic is a size medium, which fits India comfortably, even with layering.

Etta is worked seamlessly, in the round, from the neck down.  There is no seaming!  I used Artesano Aran which is wonderfully soft and knit up very quickly.

Sizing is from XS-XXL; Finished Chest measurements of 32"-56".  The tunic is meant to be worn with 2-4" of positive ease (better to layer with!)

Raglan shaping is worked from the neck down.  The cables and lace are on the reverse side as well as the front. but the back can be worked entirely in stotckinette stitch, if desired.

Etta is great to wear over a long skirt, jeans, or leggings!

*** Enjoy $1 off Etta Pattern from December 8-11, 2013.  Discount applied at checkout! Happy knitting :)  ***

Kenjin セージ

Kenjin

Sample size 6 months, shown in "Summer Sky", copyright Dream in Color

Description:  Kenjin is a lovely unisex, asymmetrical cardigan that is worked seamlessly, from the bottom up.  It features a slanted rib pattern on the back and front and stockinette stitch sleeves.

This pattern is available on Ravelry or through Dream in Color for $5.50.

Sizes:  3(6, 12, 18)months & 2(4, 6, 8, 10)years

Rating: Advanced Beginner to Intermediate

Techniques & Stitches Used:  Slanted cable pattern, stockinette stitch, garter stitch, basic increases and decreases

Yarn Requirements:  1 (1, 2, 2, 2, 3, 3, 4, 5) skeins Dream in Color Classy with Cashmere - 70% Superwash Merino Wool, 20% Cashmere, 10% Nylon - 210 yds per 4 oz skein

Sample size in 6 years, not sure of the color, but it is a dark teal with almost black patches.

Kenjin means "sage" (セージ) in Japanese.
I try to name most of my designs after family members, however "Sage", the name of my first son, is a very popular knitting pattern name!  At the time of knitting the sample, my daughter was flying out to Japan (I received the yarn the day she flew out!) and therefore a Japanese name seemed appropriate.

Autumn Road

Autumn Road Tunic

This sample is actually my prototype!  It is close to a size 4 in the pattern and Scarlett is 5.5yrs here, so it doesn't have much ease. It cold comfortably fit a 2 yr old as a little dress.

The sleeves are puffed a lot more in the pattern than in this sample.  They feature sweet little garter stitch ties.

A-line shape, with increases on either side of the front and back sections are fun little details.

The buttons and holes are located on the left front raglan edge.

Description:  “The Autumn Road Tunic was designed with my little girls in mind. They love stripes, lots of colors and fancy details like puffed sleeves and ribbons. This cute little tunic is worked seamlessly and flat, from the neck down and then joined in the round after the buttonholes are worked. It features raglan shaping, gathers along the sleeve caps, and increases along the front and back panels. Sleeves are kept short and are gathered at the cuff where garter stitch ties are worked. The neck edge, hem and cuffs are worked in garter stitch with a contrasting color to add a pop of color. The striping pattern is optional and is great for using smaller amounts of yarn.
“The Autumn Road Tunic is sure to become a go-to favorite!”
