Thorpe

One thing I love about the Internet are all the free patterns! You can look up just about anything and find a free pattern for it. Willow needed a new hat and mitts so I decided to try out Thorpe. I used Araucania Magallanes (100% wool) doubled, and for the trim, Debbie Bliss Super Chunky Cashmerino, which was left over from another sweater. Not too sure yet what I will do about mitts, but I will work on those today if I get some free time. I really like how this hat turned out and will definitely make more!

I also finished The Man's sweater yesterday and it is still blocking so I will share a photo of the Celtic cable down the front. Tomorrow or the following day, it will be ready for him to try on :)

  2. I really love that toboggan! That's the type I wear, with the part to cover the ears and the little braid things. Mine is alpaca wool. Are you selling some of your creations? I know you said you were at one time or were going to.

  4. Thank you :)

Tara, I have an empty etsy shop! I will make you a hat and send it you anytime. Did you know that alpaca is three times warmer than wool? Nice and soft too! Is that the hat in you avater? Cute!

  5. Meg, yes, that's my hat in the pic. It's inside out, which is the way I wear it now. I look like a coconut when I wear it with the furry side out. No, I didn't know that about alpaca wool vs. sheep's wool. I'd be pleased if you could make two boy's wool toboggans. You set the price, and I'll pay it. I was about to buy both the boys new toboggans, so someone is going to benefit. It may as well be you. :-) If you're up to it, and if I can choose the colors, Will likes green. Blue would be good for Trust. But, the colors don't matter too much. Natural colors would be fine, too. And you could post the pics on your blog. ;-)
