Treefort Jacket Pattern Release!

Treefort Jacket Pattern

Sometimes, patterns just "happen".  You start knitting a little something for a friend, then take a look and think, "Hey! This is turning out better than I thought! What a fun pattern this would make..." And there you have it; a new pattern is born :)  This is precisely what happened when I started knitting my first Treefort Jacket.

Why Treefort, you ask? The original color scheme had me picturing little Loxley climbing into the fort in our backyard or hanging out in the trees :)

I started with a 3 color for a monochromatic color scheme and added a Main Color, Accent Color & Neutral.  Pattern contains possible color combos & notes for choosing colors or grouping smaller amounts of scrap yarn into each category.

Treefort Jacket is worked seamlessly & flat, from the neck down with raglan shaping.  Once you separate for the body, the sleeves are worked in the round and can either be short or long.  Hood is worked from the neck up with shaping at the back and then grafted a the top.  Button bands are worked by picking up sts along each front and hood.

Pattern Features:
  • Color selection notes & help
  • Short or Long Sleeve Instructions
  • Imperial & Metric Measurements
  • Schematics & Photos
  • Links to tutorials for Provisional Cast On & Grafting
  • Sizes 3(6, 12, 18) months & 2(4, 6, 8, 10) years

Pattern Rating:  Beginner to Advanced Beginner.

Treefort Jacket is so much fun to knit that I dare you to knit only 1!

    1. Hi there!
I used Knit Picks Cotton Worsted from www.knitpicks.com. I used 4mm & 3.5mm needles but you may need a different size to get gauge which is 4.5sts per inch.

No, this pattern only ranges from 3 months to 10 years. It would not be difficult to upsize the Cast On sts and then work the raglan increases until the size is comfortable for you. I am glad that you like it and I look forward to seeing yours! Meg xo
